1994 S10 Blazer not starting
My brother has a 1994 S10 Blazer with about 90K on it that he got a couple years ago. We are not sure what year the motor is. Per the paper work a new long block was put in about 30K ago. Wiring harness has been modified some.
The Blazer started to be hard to start a few months back and couldn't figure out was was wrong. Finally the truck will not start. It cranks and cranks. He has replaced the Pickup coil, ICM, coil, and a few other parts. Also checked the wiring and fuses. Still no joy. A couple of questions. 1. Is there a way to tell what year the motor is? 2. Where is the crankshaft sensor located? Any help would be appreciated. brian |
Are you getting Spark?
Are you getting Fuel? If yes what is your fuel pressure? You need to answere these questions first. Then you can proceed with trouble shooting. |
He is not getting any spark. That is why I was asking about the Crankshaft sensor.
Yes, he is getting fuel but don't know what the fuel pressure is. I told him he needed to get a gauge and find out. |
check the module in the distributer.

what motor is it? I know that my 94 doesnt have a crank sensor

Update. My Brother put a new fuel pump/sender in the tank today. Still no spark. He also replaced the module in the distributor and the Computer. Still nothing. His 94 doesn't have a crank sensor either.
Right now he is going to chase down the wires on the alarm system that hasn't been used since he owned it. Maybe the box it went bad and causing all the problems. Brian |
Blazer is up and running now. Took it to a mechanic and he found that the new Control module was bad. Replaced it. Took the module back to Autozone and they refunded the money. Thanks for all your help.
