233c encoder motor burning out ?
 
well today i finally got my front axle to engage i replaced the cable

i do have an other problem with the 4wd 4lo works fine

4hi starts to engage and then stops
Like the motor dosnt have enough power

can it be i need a new encoder motor ?
Just need a 2nd opinion thanks guys

Check the resistance on the main motor A/B connections at the motor cold. Then try a shift, and check again. If the reading after attempting a shift is dramatically higher than the cold reading, then the motor is shot. If it is close, then you may have an encoder problem where the TCCM loses track of where the shift sector shaft is and reverts back to its previous position.

You should be able to ground one of the pins on the DLC to check for codes from the TCCM. I think error401's post in the diy section describes this for the 1st gens.

I'm glad I registered here, lol....my t-case just stopped shifting all the way too, but I think I've got parts rattling around in the case, we'll find out on Friday......
