'90 S10 Blazer automatic not shifting gears
Hey guys,
I hope you're doing great. I have a 1990 4.3L S10 Blazer, automatic 4x4. The car was working relatively fine until today. Started the car, drove it for 5 miles and made a stop for a few minutes, just to find out it was not shifting gears any more. The car stays in 1 gear despite switching overDrive, Drive, 2 or 1. Reverse is working. If i give it more gas it revs pretty quick. It has never had any slips between gears. Can this be a shift solenoid problem or maybe a blown fuse for the solenoids (i am not sure if this older models had a fuse for this solenoids)? I am affraid the transmission could be dead  I am not experienced with automatic transmissions; had to research and read a lot on this today due to this problem to get a better idea on what to expect when taking it to a repair shop. Any information or tips you can provide are much appreciated. Thanks in advance, |
Did you check the fluid?

if the speedometer isnt working it could be the vehicle speed sensor.
my 93 has some goofy issue where it keeps popping the ign/gau fuse, but when it does that it goes into 2nd gear until the fuse is replaced |
