94 4.3 (Vin W) Blazer No Start - Low FP
Well then, it seems like the Blazer is REALLY wanting to get replaced...
94 4.3 (W)
Was out for the afternoon on Saturday (appx 99 ambient temp) and I logged about 110 miles before the truck stalled out. Truck was running really strong(towing a 16' boat also), all day long, and then after taking off from a red light and getting up to appx 35, the engine just died out, no warning lights or anything until the engine was dead. We got pulled over, and eventually got towed home only to find the FP would only press up to 14 psi, with no leak down(even after 24hrs). I'd already replaced the fuel pump and filter withing the last year, spider and fpr was replaced with the new engine just at 14 months ago. Being the optimist I am, I tore down the intake to check the right bank for cleaning(fpr would fix), or left bank(nut kit would) fix, and found NO LEAKS! I took removed/cleaned the spider and poppets since I was in there already, and check for fuel while it was removed. Flow seemed unrestricted. I got everything reinstalled(feeling confident the problem wasn't in the intake assembly), but now I'm stumped. What could cause me to lose pressure so abruptly? I'm thinking of dropping the tank and trying a spare pump, but I really don't want to waste the time...Any idea's something else to look for before I drop this tank again?

Don't laugh but take a look at the nylon lines coming out of the top of your tank if one got kinked somehow it would restrict the flow causing low pressure issues (guess how I learned this one) same in front of the fuel filter again a nylon line (eliminated all these in favor of stainless when the first one gave me issues)

Turned out to be the fuel pump, again. I went ahead and sprung for an AC Delco replacement this time. On the road again...

Yeah, if you go aftermarket (anything other than ACDelco), you can expect it to die within a year. Not sure why, but it seems Delco has a monopoly on 'working' fuel pumps for GM trucks (and cars).
