94' Running Bad.....has been mistreated.... :(

Sorry if the answers are already on here, I tried searching for them.....

I have a 94, in the last 4 yrs i have replaced the fuel injector "spider" assembly, the plugs and wires, cleaned the EGR valve and replace the solenoid, replaced the O2 sensor, starter (and I believe I replace the radiator.....my minds mixed up on which car that was :icon_doh:). Still had some ideling issues that we fixed by adjusting the distributor cap, but it was never perfect. About 1 1/2 yrs ago we replace the fuel pump, after doing that the idling was messed up again, have to two-foot it at lights so it won't die and it has recently gotten bad about bogging down when accelerating and backfiring. I'm going to work on getting the timing back up to par tonight and hope that that helps but my question is, is there anything else that should have been replace with the fuel pump?? I've heard there is an fuel filter in the (for lack of a better word) forward part of the car (like under the drivers seat area). And could that cause the issues with the bogging down and backfiring? ....and if the timing has been off for sooo long, what all could that hurt?

Thanks for the help!

also, I was looking at a website for parts and they offer a 3-Step Fuel Injection Systems Cleaning (is on sale this week), what all is involved with that if I do it on my own??....and what would that help with, if anything?? (sorry for the newbie question...)

Considering you said spider I am guessing your working on a CPI. I would suggest definately the fuel filter. Then check the fuel pressure at the manifold and also do a leak down test (search about it on here) and also, cat converters could be clogged.

firewalker, be careful copying links like that... AllData has a habit of changing their image names to thwart habits like that.
