94 s10 blazer

So for a while my blazer when i started it the starter sparked up and threw sparks. I have remote start installed thats how i was able to see it do that. Last night i started it to go out and there was a blueish light that lighted up look liked electricity to me. Now also when starting it sounded very weak and felt like the starter drained the car of everything. so this morning i went to start it and nothing no noise from the starter nothing cranks. so i bought a starter about to put it in but i want to know if anyone has had anything like this happen. everything turns on the 4x4 the radio the heat defroster hazerds you name it but no engine so i dont believe its anything to do with ignition i hope i am regardless going to put in the new starter in got it out but i want to know if someone has done this and still had another problem they had to fix before it was completely done. the relay for the starter has power to it and and a new battery. maybe a wiring problem or something something to look for any help would be appreciated

No help here, but I'm having exactly the same problem with my blazer right now. Have you had any luck finding out what the problem was?

Sounds to me like the solenoid or wires to it were shorting out on something when voltage was applied.

All I did was test the relay it had power. So I took the starter out got it tested wouldn't even power up in the machine. So I put a new one in now I have no problem now. My started sparked for months then went out. So pretty much that's the solenoid going but at this point get a new starter. Best way to do this is go through the
Passenger side tire and get it put solved all my problems.
