ABS Swap
I was able to license the Jimmy for my wife even though it hasn't passed emissions which means I have my Blazer back. I had a new muffler and tailpipe installed on Saturday so it's nice and quiet once again. That leaves only one issue to fix on the Blazer: ABS code 66.
The ABS light was on when I bought the truck last August and I just ignored it. Now that I've got the other major projects taken care of I am in the mood to fix this one. Code 66 is a short in the pump motor. I'm wondering what the best course of action is to fix it. I have a working ABS unit from my wrecked '94 Jimmy that I could just swap in. Should I just take the pump motor out of the box or should I swap the whole box? Is there any special procedure for swapping the whole box? Do I need to bleed the brakes afterward? Please shower me with your knowledge. After I do this job I have to replace the intake manifold gaskets on my '93 LeSabre. Apparently they're prone to leaking. |
