Blazer 2.8 V6 4x4 problem 1985

Hi. I have a problem with my 4x4... The guy i bought it off of said that the transfer arm from the shifter to the gearbox is broken. Is this a easy fix? Is it possible to weld or something. If anyone has some good ideas please come with them.. thanks :D

RE: Blazer 2.8 V6 4x4 problem 1985

Found out the problem.. finally.. after a few hours debunking the vakuum system, i got it going... but there is still one more thing... when i pull the lever down to 4x4 high, it goes into 4x4 high, but does not "stick" or stay in it. have to hold the lever.. if i let go of it it just goes back to 2x4... please anyone... anyone know what that could be??

Thanks

could be the vaccum actuator. on a 94 its located under the battery i'm not sure where it is on a 85.

Hmm.. Ok. So its vaccum that holds the lever in place.. Ill take a look at that. Thanks for the replay.

Another question i have is the spare tire holder on the back door. Is there a spesial part i need to get the tire to stay on it? I see that there is a rod that the tire goes over, and it has to curves in it. And the thing that makes me wounder is how the hell is one able to open the back window and door when the spare tire is on??

Thanks
