Blower Motor Problem

I just bought a used '92 Chevy S-10 Blazer with 143,000 miles. 2 days after I bought it, the blower motor wouldn't push air out of the vents, just dribble out. Someone at Checkers suggested replacing the Relay switch to the blower motor and I did, nothing. We then found out by tapping the blower motor it would start, but only on high, but you could not change the speed of the fan or it'd die out again. And sometime it would start mid-ride you touched it before. So we put in a new blower motor and still nothing. But here is where we are at now, if you either tap the blower motor itself or the relay switch (the relay switch, very lightly) it'll start up but only on high and if you turn the fan speed down or off, it won't come back on unless you tap the relay or the blower motor. And there is a brand new 25 amp fuse in there too. Any idea's?

i had the same problem, try cleaning the connectors to the relay. there's another connector close to that one that i had trouble with. i cleaned those plugged and unplugged a few times so far no trouble. good luck!

How do you get to the relays to clean them? like are they close to the switch itselft under the dash?

invest in a digital volt ohm meter. those things come in handy. you can test switches, relays, blower motor resistors, anything that is supposed to make a connection. you can see where you're losing power or if you have a good ground. i love my DVOM. i had two of them. i had a simple DVOM and i had craftsman DVOM. my craftsman got stolen.

Could someone post a picture of the location for the resistors and relays for the blower motor. For the 83-94 S10 Blazers First Generation. Thank you.

The resistor pack is mounted on the side of the evaporator housing, (Two Screws) Follow the power wire from the blower motor and it will lead directly to the resistor pack.
