RE: Body mounts

There are upper and lower bushings along with a long bolt and steel washers. There are several location along the side of the body with mounting points welded to the frame. The bushings are above and below the mounting point with a long bolt through the center along with metal washers. If you go to LMC.com they sell a complete bushing kit and have a picture of the frame with all of the mounting locations. This is going to be by next project to replace all of my mounting bushings later this year. I will probaly buy the whole kit from LMC unless I can find another source. The long bolt threads into the body.

RE: Body mounts

Its a great idea to replace teh body mount bushings if they show signs of wear. Cracked, chunks missing etc.

the nut the long bolt goes into is welded to the body, and its sandwiched between two pieces of steel, inside the body. If the weld holding the nut to the body rusts off you will need to drill a 2" hole in the floor of the truck body. Peel the carpet out of the way and drill as close to center over the nut as possible. I used a long pry bar to hold the nut in place and used my impact gun to take the old bolt out. On my '87 I had to drill 4 holes, there are only 10 body mount bolts on a Blazer. 2 under the radiadotr core support, 2 under the drivers feet, 2 under the rear pasengers feet, 2 over the rear axle, and 2 above the rear bumper. Good luck and have fun. They are all easy to get too. :D

Ps you can use a 2" rubber grommet to seal the hole, or 2" electrical panel seal, or just cover them over with the carpet (which is what I did).

RE: Body mounts

the body mounts weld on the floor and the inner rocker. LMC truck slaes them and if ur from canada probody does to. when doing the mounts it the perfect time to check the floor, and rockers. b?c if there rusted they have to be replaced. i've done lots of rust repair on s10/ blazers and for a metal guy with some exp. its easy just takes some time to do all of the work.
