Cable and vacuum actuator questions
Hey all! I have a few simple questions I hope you folks can help me with. I have a 94 4.3 CPI S-10. I have a vacuum issue and discovered the culprit is a vacuum actuator that sits in the engine compartment, just in front of the brake booster, and under the brake fluid resevoir, and is part of the cruise control. Easy to get to, but what is that bad boy called? I can't replace a part I can't even name. Next, while looking at the cruise control system, and my Haines Manual, I discovered a missing cable that belongs on the throttle valve linkage, something they call a "TV" cable. What the heck is it, and where does the other end belong?

Wow, (as a mod) I really screwed up Christine's message trying to simply post in this thread. Sorry! Les Myer

servo, cruise control, sorry I do not own a parts catalog.
I use the www.gmpartscenter.net for the drawings. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/blazerf...e889c2344d.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/blazerf...23016f4456.jpg |

Cruise Control Servo like Error 401 said. Cruise control cable hooks up to the throttle body. No TV cable.

Well, that explains why the TV cable isn't there! And, I finally figured out that that vacuum actuator for the cruise control is the "cruise control servo". Dang, it seems half the battle with these vehicles is just trying to find out what the freakin' part is called! I would never have guessed it's called a servo...my experience with servos is that they are electrically operated components! Anyway, thank you all for your help with my silly, trivial problems!

What transmission do you have? If it's a 4L60E, you don't need a TV cable. That's only for a 700R4.

I don't think that from 92 onwards they fitted the 700R4. AFAIK from latest 92 it's all 4L60 and from 94 4L60E. (At least that was OEM)
