charcoal cannister
my engine mounts are shot, and until its a breezy 72 degrees outside im not fighting with them lol. Since the driver side is broke, the canister line pops off from under the throttle body (ive got cpi). Idle seems to not be effected but i know it still causes a vacuum leak. Is it safe to plug the vacuum port for now? I believe that line is only to vent gases back into the engine. I know if i blocked the other ones the tank would build pressure.
Option 2 : how fuel resistant is regular ol vacuum hose? I could pull the plastic line connector off,and stab on a few inches of hose and plug it back into the intake. Yep,im half assing this until i feel like messing with those darn mounts. Bet 10 cents il have 5000 views and no replies.lol (psst captain hook,i sent you this message but your inbox is full, fix it!) |
Is that up to 72 or down to 72? I might not see 72 outside again until next May! Plain old vacuum line will work short term, but it really should be fuel rated. Have fun with those mounts ;)

heck,if it got down to 78 id be happy. ive done the mounts on a 4.3 once,(tbi) and i wanted to shoot myself. i might have a shop do em. il use those poly mounts OR go with those trans dapt clamshell mounts.Im not paying 95.00 each for oem mounts. so im not using the pos aftermarket mounts either.
hose it is. untill i do the mounts. Ive gotten a iac code lately. replaced it. still there. i bet this leak is causing it. |
