charging/electric problem please help!
Ok i have a 1987 s-10 blazer 2.8L every option...
for some reason while its running; if i use anything electrical; lights, brakes, or even turn the steering wheel it wants to die. and the gauge shows about 10v I have a brand new battery +/- battery cables, I had the alternator checked and i even disconnected the battery and it continued to run... i have no clue whats wrong!???? help if you can |
If its running around 10V, you have a charging problem. Either that or one heck of a load on the system. Have you checked the wiring to the alternator?

Well i got this blazer from my uncle and he was not very mechanically inclined...
there is a yellow wire from the back of the alternator to the positive stud on the battery and off the same spot there is an orange wire to something and it has a black rubber thing on it.. and a plug with two wires running somewhere... i cant tell were they are going..? i don't think its hooked up right. |
When the engine isn't running it shows around 12 volts... and all the wiring is good?
|
it seems like something is pulling energy but everything is off... could it be the spark plugs or something like that? i just bought a brand new alternator for it because everyone i talked to said it might be it and nothing changed... interesting (pondering)

ok new question... i was reading another thread and it was the fusible link, but its closed.. where can i find the fusible links, if there are any on a 1987 s10 blazer 2.8L?
