Clutch Problem! SUPER hard to get into gear and pedal is super soft

I'm dealing with a 1985 2.8L V6 manual 5 speed.

I went to leave work today and my car would not shift into reverse. I was confused so I tried putting it into 1st and got nothing. I finally man handled it into reverse and then got it to go into 4th so I could start rolling. The entire way home was a complete struggle. I could get it into 1st as I was approaching stoplights but only if I was rolling at just the right speed, and it still wasn't an easy task. Then at every stoplight, even if I was in neutral, if I let out the clutch at all I would start moving forward. What the hell?!

After I started going I could shift but it was super hard to get into the next gear. My shoulder is sore just from a 10 minute drive!

Besides all this my clutch pedal is super super soft. Like it feels completely loose like it's not even connected to anything.

Any help is greatly appreciated!! I tried checking the transmission fluid but couldn't find the dipstick to check it.

Couple of things come to mind. One, the throw out bearing is not depressing the fingers on the pressure plate for some reason. Not sure if you have a mechanical or hydraulic clutch. If mechanical, it could be a simple adjustment. If hydraulic, could be low on fluid or you may need to replace the cylinder.

Two, could be that your pressure plate has given up the ghost and time for a new clutch.
