Digital Gauge Cluster Failing
Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum but i'm certain this place will prove to be a very useful tool when searching for answers.
Anyway, I bought a 1992 Jimmy SLE 4x4 4.3L Engine code Z. My digital gauge cluster i believe is starting to fail (because its blicking), ive read that it may need a new capacitor? idk What i would like is to just get a salvage yard backup cluster in case the current one decides to die. My question: Has anyone done a cluster swap before? What years and models will work for my vehicle? Any info will help. Thanks |
You can attempt to fix it yourself, depending on the issue. You can also buy repair kits on ebay, or send it in for a repair. Are you looking for a digital cluster to replace with or go to analog?

If there was a digital or analog cluster that would fit my jimmy, i'd use it.

thanks for the links! this will come in handy if i can find an analog cluster at the pull-it yard.

I ordered the kit off ebay. Just replaced the components on the board yesterday and it works great now!
This is the kit i ordered, it comes with all needed to do the repair other than the soldering iron. 89 94 Chevy S10 s 10 Blazer Digital Cluster Repair Kit | eBay Edit: On a side note anyone happen to know what i hook the cable to for the gear selector part of the cluster? |
That is a good kit, that is the one that I used. I live in MN so I picked it up directly, Good guy.
