Drivers side power mirror. no side to side, is there a relay? or just the switch

I have a parts jimmy and a nice 93 GMC S15 jimmy

My problem is my passenger side power mirror works completely up/down, left/right.

but then on the drivers side the power mirror will only go up/down.

The parts jimmy mirrors work completely. So I first changed out the mirror, and when that didnt fix anything I changed out the switch.

Still not fixed.... so now I can only assume there is a relay OR if there are no relays for the mirrors, then I must have a bad wire somewhere...

Anyone have any ideas?

Go to your local library. Find out if they have access to the Mitchell on-line repair manuals. If they do, get on the Mitchell website and look up the testing procedure for the power mirror circuit. It's very thorough. I used that testing procedure for the mirrors on my '94 Blazer.

killer thank you so much! I have already completely ruled out the mirror and the switch.

but im just not sure what that leaves... lol! I will check out the library in the next few days.

There are no relays in this system. Locate the mirror connector (in the door) and check for power to the switch. Yellow & Green wire is the up & down. Blue & White are the right & left, you can trace from there.

As said, it is all wiring. Sounds like there is a break in the wiring for the driver side mirror.
