Default e-brake idiot light always on

Long story short, in late November I crashed my truck. 180'ed hit a curb and broke the tire clean off the axle. I had to change the entire rear. Well i belive i have everything fixed its just that my ebrake light is always on. Could I have broken the sensor that triggers the light? How can I fix this problem? Its a 1990 S10 Blazer 4x4.

Default RE: e-brake idiot light always on

Not sure on the previous gen Blazer, but I believe there is an electronic sensor on the ebrake bracket under the dash. Have a look up there, it is possible that the sensor just went bad and needs replacing. I'm sure that it doesn't have an adjustment. It is possible that the spring that holds the pedal up has either broken or gotten weak. Will the light go out if you pull up on the ebrake pedal? Give that a try and if it does go out, then you may need to either replace the spring or just add another one into the bracket.
