EGR valve not working right

Got a 94 s10 blazer vin W. got a code 32. so i just replaced the egr valve with a known working one and a new gasket. 10 min of driving engine light comes on. code 32. shut the engine off and back on and the light is off. drive another 10-15 min or going down the highway it will come back on. so whats going on. when i took the old egr out it had some oil on the pintle and some in the holes. i dont know why. anyway how do i go about testing the wires going to the egr. i have a voltmeter/ohm meter. the engine runs great all the time no problem. i think that the egr is not opening up when commanded on. the old and used egr pintle moves in and out freely and wasnt much if any carbon in or on the egr when i took it out. thanks

Sometimes, when ya take those off, it's best to spray cleaner down in the port, and a tooth brush down into it to scrub. Then fire up the truck and rev it to blow out any carbon chunks that may be lodged. It's loud, but works.
