Default Engine swap

Hey guys im new here and looking for a little help

i got a 89 k5 and shes burning oil on start up and while it idles but does not burn at all while im driving thinkin valve seals or maybe even rings... Also thinkin if i should just swap it out. The truck is mint and all original except for paint and the hood.

What 350's will work ?

I got a line on a 84 camaro z28 5.7...if i swap the intake will this go in and work without any trouble?

What should i look for to go into my baby? If anyone can tell me what years and from what vehicles will work i would really appreciate it

im really happy to be part of the blazer brother hood lol as corny as that sounds

That motor should work without issue, but I'd work with what you have. If you can replace the valve seals, that will go a bit faster than swapping motors, especially if the z28 motor's health is unknown.

I have a one owner 89 with the 350 as well and there is always a puff of smoke on cold startup. I had the keepers on the valves replaced by a Chevy guy and it did no good. I have 170k on the motor and it uses very little oil over time. I've had more than one person tell me its common on these motors. I would just drive it till things get really bad, then pull it or have it pulled and rebuilt. I plan on pulling mine in time and then pumping it up a little while I'm at it. I like the idea of having my own motor in there and not something I don't know much about, unless of course its new.
