Default Fuel issue

Alright, I feel like a real moron even having to ask this question, I do all of my own work on my car, but for some reason this has me stumped. My gas pedel is extremely hard to push down, hard to the point when I am able to depress it, it comes close to flooding the engine or does flood the engine. It has only started doign this recently and I think it may be an issue with the cold weather. But I am unsure, I have checked everything I know how to check myself and am out of ideas, if any of you can offer me any help in this issue it would be much appreciated, thank you in advance.

1991 S10 Blazer, 4WD.

I went as far as lubricating the linkage on the throttle body, which didnt help much (it seems to be sticking on the throttle body)

Well sounds like you should check all the cables attatched to the TB. Check them for movement and check the TV cable if you have one it is attatched to pass side of the TB and runs down to the transmission. Also if the cables are frayed inside their covers they could be causing this to happen. But you claim it just started to happen with the cold weather, then look for snow or ice build up keeping the cables from working properly...

It might also be possible that if they sanded your roads a small pebble or debris has lodged itself into the return spring or causing excess friction.
