Fuel Pump electrical

neighbor's 1989 chevy s10 blazer 4.3 would not start after parking it for an hour.

determined it was fuel pump as

1. no gas at TB Injectors
2. nofuel pumpnoise from fuel tank.

replaced fuel pump.

Still will not start. No fuel pump noise.

Ran jumber with fuse from + battery to tan wire connection at rear of vehicle - fuel pump would turn on.

keep it running for about 2 minutes to push the gas throught thr line and pressurize.

Still will not start and no gas at Throttle body.

ALSO Fuel pump relay has no voltage at any of the terminals.

Any suggestions?

RE: Fuel Pump electrical

that fuel pump relay has to energize. I don't have the manual in front of me to tell you which terminal(I believe there is 5) should be energized but hopefully you have/or can get a manual or someone here can relay that info-but that relay lack of 'juice' is your area of concern.jp[&:]

RE: Fuel Pump electrical

fuel pump relay is orange wire. double checked and does not have juice and also has a short circuit somewhere. (why would this not blow the 'ECM B' fuse?)

I am thinking of cutting the orange feed and running a 10amp jumper from the battery to the relay.

Also, I cannot find the ECM module. Any ideas?

Also cannot locate the fuel pump test connector.

Thanks

RE: Fuel Pump electrical

don't think an 89 has a fuel pump jumper wire as the 'newer' ones did. The computer is passenger side, up under the dash, tucked up from the bottom. Drop the black plastic under dash cover held in place with 7mm bolts-you'll see it. That wouldn't be the first choice on my list for this issue.jp[&o]
