Help - my hood cable broke
What is the easiest way to pop the hood, so I can replace the cable? Anyone have any ideas. I went to release the hood and there was no resitence (sp) when I pulled, I can hear it moving at the latch, but it does not release the hood to the secondary latch.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Make sure it's not just binding up, have someone pull the release and you use you hand kind-of like a hammer and hit the front of the hood in the center if it doesn't release then it probably is a bad cable like you suspected. If it does open you need to get some good rust penetrating lubricant on the latch before it does damage your cable. If it is a bad cable you need a flashlight and you go in between the grille and the hood with a long skinny screwdriver..it's just a trial and error type of thing though, you just keep trying until you get it IIRC...there's no special trick to it..
Thanks, I will try the screwdriver trick, I already smacked it with the back of my hand and it did not release and the cable has no resitance when you pull, my quess is the end broke of as I can hear it move by the latch. Thanks
