Default Intake Hose Sensor?

Just to confirm, is this the Intake Hose 02 Sensor? I found it dangling when I went to change the water pump since there's a leak coming from the water pump but then the rain got me and I had to postpone it.

It's not an O2 sensor per se—it's an intake air temperature sensor. It definitely goes in the air intake tube. Be sure you remember to install it when you put all that back together.

Thanks for the confirmation and explanation! I wonder if this was affecting anything by not being in the tube?

I'll definitely remember to put it back in there.

you're pulling unfiltered air from the hole it used to be in, so that's never good.
as for the engine running, it wont make a huge difference, but it should be in the tube, not out.
i dont remember off the top of my head if the iat goes before or after the maf, but if it's after, you'll be running lean until you plug that hole

I have had it both unhooked, and hooked up, on my 94 it threw a CEL, on my jimmy, it did not. but either way, it did not effect anything running wise
