Nob Q ruff motor

i have a 1993 Blazer S10 Taho 4.3L Vortec V6 "W"

Problem- the motor runs ruff. i had a mechanic look at it and he said it was a spider injector so replaced that. also changed spark plugs spark plug wires, cap, and rotor. this all started one night when i started it. Then i had noticed it had no compression in one cylinder by doing a compression test. i think it could be the head? any ideas would be helpful thank you

RE: Nob Q ruff motor

Remove the spark plug from the cylinder with no compression and squirt some oil in through the spark plug hole. Turn the motor over a few times and then squirt some more in. Rerun the compression test with the oil on top of the piston. If the compression is restored, you have bad rings. If not, it is likely that you have a bent valve or a bad head gasket. A bad head gasket is typically accompanied by sucking coolant into the affected cylinder though.

You will not know until you get the head off as to whether you need to replace the head or just replace a valve or two and do a valve job.

You could try pulling the valve cover and taking a look at the top of the valves for any inconsistencies.
