Default oil filter adapter removal

Anyone know how to get the oil filter adapter out? I took out the two bolts and disconnected the lines up by the oil filter thinking I could pull it to the rear to change the oring and gaskets....no room, hits tranny and cant go to the front, hits transfer case. PLEASE tell me what I have to do to get it out, leaking oil of course. Please don't make a grown man cry. 91 4WD 4.3L S10 Blazer

Done it a few times pulling it out front. Do you have the front skid plate off to get better access?

yep, what jason said. and a tip, once you get ready for it to go back in,put one thing wrap of electrical tape under each head of the bolts and slide em in then place the gasket on top. the tape will keep the bolts from sliding out. there aint no space in there for 2 hands.

Havent taken the skid off yet...when I was trying to pull it forward it was hitting the tranfer case. Ill try the skid plate this weekend. I read that taking drivers side motor mount bolt out and raising the engine will help, anyone had to do that?
