Im replacing the CPI and upper and lower intake gaskets on my new to me '94 S10 Blazer 4.3L W 4x4, and I want the metal LIM gaskets to help prevent future coolant leaks that happen a lot with the plastic ones, but I cant find them for my 1st gen Blazer The only thing i can find is Felpro 1203 "performance" LIM gaskets. And it says they're not street legal?? Is this what Im looking for? Or am i out of luck on my Blazer?? Thanks. Ive learned a ton on here.

 

Check part number #MS95832 on Rock auto. When I search up the part number you gave for it, it comes up for 1980-1988 chevy engines.

 

Rich found the correct gasket set: Felpro MS95832. 94 has CMFI and does not use metal or plastic intake gaskets, fiber only, and NO gasket adhesive.

 

I am glad i found the right one, but I have a question about this, for my knowledge bank.
since it has no metal or plastic, is it prone to the same problems that the OEM gaskets have with leaking? or has it been improved in the years since the truck came out?

 

CMFI intake gaskets are not nearly as prone to leak as the new "improved" (ha ha) CSFI gaskets.

The OEM CSFI gaskets use silicone rubber and plastic, the Felpro MS98002T replacement upgrade uses rubber and aluminum, and they don't leak, (if installed correctly).

put a thin silicone bead around the coolant ports when installing the new gasket, YES or NO?? seems to be differing opinions on here. I want to give my 4.3 the best chance of not leaking!

Tennesseeboy, If you use the Felpro MS98002T gasket set, DO NOT use sealer or adhesive of any kind. Only use silicone on the front and rear surfaces of the block. Set the manifold down straight, do not slide it to align the bolt holes. Clean the threads in the heads and on the bolts, then apply thread sealer. Use a torque wrench and tighten as follows:

 

Can't use that gasket # I don't think, I got a first gen Blazer.

 

The MS98002T gasket set is used on 1996 and newer, (2nd gen). 1995 and older, (1st gen) use MS95832. Don't use sealer on those gaskets either.
