questions

ok new to the forum, semi new to my 88 s-10 blazer 4x4, old to working on cars, but a couple of questions.

1 what wire on the head lights is the high beam wire?light green is what im thinking... but kinda want to be sure before i cut.

2. heat only comes threw the defrost vents, experiance from my past tells me that its a vacuum problem, but im not sure where to start looking for it?

any ideas?

RE: questions

Off the top of my head I'm not sure of the color but that won't be hard, a 12v tester or a manual will do it. One opening question on the vent operation(or lack of)...does the cruise(if equipped) work? I think it's a vacuum issue to a degree but that would lead me to believe it's a major lack of vacuum not only to the vent system but all vacuum options. If no cruise or it works then my bet is a small plastic clip in the lower part of the center heating 'tower'. First things first, though. Jerry[:-]

RE: questions

on the back side of the control head-that's another possibility. I'll bet you that if you search this site there is a vacuum diagram to help you. And I'd bet the problem is either a) lack of vacuum or b) that clip or c) control head. If you have vacuum to the back side I'd bet the vacuum portion is satisfied thus pointing you in the other two directions. Possible door operation issue but you have an issue with two modes(heat and vent)-so I doubt that. Jerry
