safe jacking/jackstand points?

hey guys, I was wondering what are the jacking/jack stand points on my 94 S15 Jimmy. The only parts that I'm confident to use right now are the spare tire jack points. Thanks!

the entire frame works good

S10s have lots. Anywhere on the frame is fine. There should be a front crossmember under the engine that will work. Just dont use the radiator support. Rear axle works fine too

As long as you have a jack that is safe to cradle the tube...otherwise...slippage is possible.

Ive also heard never jack on the differential housing, stick to the tubes.

Eff that, I always jack up the pumpkin.

swartlkk 12-30-2009 04:32 PM

I have always jacked on the pumpkin as well. Never had an issue.

Weird. Wonder why the people who've told me that did..

yeah i always use the pumpkin too. you have an entire frame to jack wit too dont forget. the frame is normaly pretty solid ;)

i've never heard of that one either WolfPack.

besides the frame & diff, i've lifted off the LCA too. never had any issues-or slips.

it all comes down to how good of a jack you have. don't be trying to lift your truck with one of those 2 ton, 24" long jacks, they're just not stable. have a nice size 3 ton floor jack (or a sturdy set of ramps) for stability. even though your truck isn't low like qtips there, they make some nice low profile ones too.

This works in a pinch!!! LMAO! Yes, I actually left it like this while I changed rear ends in NC!
