Default Starting problem fuel pump ???

I have a 93 blazer with a 4.3 l v-6. Today it died at Wal-mart. If I let it sit for a while 10-20 min it tries to start then just cranks away. I tried the fuel bleeder (I think thats what it is called in the back of the engine). After the car sits it squirts fuel about 1-2 inches high for a second then dies off total (Key is in ON possition). When I crank over the engine with the bleeder depressed it squirts about 1/2 inch. Is this a fuel pump problem or something else?????

Any help would be thankful.

Mark

Hard to say for sure without a fuel pressure test. Put a fuel tester on that port.

Thanks for the quick reply. Any idea where I can get a fuel pressure tester or can rent one. I ussually only do minor repairs now. Only have basic tools.

Autozone has a great rent a tool program. You buy the tool, use it, then return it for a full refund, or keep it.
