Does the tranny fluid go in between the transfer case and trans? my tranny was 4 quarts low and i saw no leaks,is there a seal or any way fluid is leaking into transfer case 1992 Blazer K5

 

Yes you could have trans fluid leaking into the transfer case, if the seal is leaking.
It takes the same fluid however it could be under pressure removing the filler nut on the case should let you know if the tranny is leaking into the case if fluid comes out the top then you know its leaking, or if you have to much fluid in the case. however the trans and Tcase do not share fluid between the two.

 

guess i will have to take the bolt out...

 

make sure you remove the filler plug not the drain one

the filler plug is on top

Mine does this exact same thing. It overfills the transfer case and the transmission starves for fluid. So it's probably a bad seal?

My Granddad bought a 2000 s-10 4x4 a few years back.It only had around 20,000 miles on it.When we stopped and started to pull up steep hill's it would just sit and the engine would race.
No smoke or spinning of the tires like you'd expect.Finally we put it in 4 wheel low.
Then it would go.
After several time of this happening and continuously checking the tranny fluid which was never low he had an idea.
He remembered the old power glide we had in our 64 chevy.
You had to keep power braking it lightly forward and back to get the true fluid level.
We did this with his truck and bingo it was about 2 and 1/2 quarts low.
I never would have thunk it but man that truck does great still.
Just a small story that may help in the future.
