Default Unable to obtain engine codes.

Hello,

For a while i have been unable to get the error codes from the computer. The garage has tried their reading tool but it said "not connected". When i jump the A and B terminals and turn on the contact the Check engine light does not light up at all.

I have the 119KW (162HP) version of the 4.3l V6 engine (vin W?) from '94.

Does anyone have some hints for me where to look? Even though its my second 1st Gen S10 i still need to learn a lot about how it works and how i can fix it .

Check all of your fuses!! I personally have never had this problem on an OBD1 vehicle, but have on the 1999 S10 Blazer we have.
Have you tried pulling the codes yourself?
It's simple, just requires you to basically be able to count (and install a paperclip jumper)

94 should be able to jumper a and b together, unless the export models are different.

I have checked the fuses but the ECM fuse looked ok. not sure if it actually uses any other fuses...

most cars seem to use the cigar lighter fuse for the OBD port. so if your cigar lighter dont work chances are that dont either. i run into it all the time at work.

I have put navigation in the cigaret lighter and it just started charging. I could double check it but im sure it worked.

But i also have an extra 'outlet' on the floor of my middle console, if that one is on the same fuse i am 100% sure it works.

it might not be on that fuse then. i was just saying most cars ive ran into are like that. at work we have all data so we can just look up what fuse its on. heck might as well just check them all
