Vaccuum Lines on TC Switch
 

So, the battle rages on with the 4X4. 94 S10 4.3 Vortec"W" vin.

I have vaccuum to the 4wd Actuator under the battery tray while in 2wd. When I press the dash button into 4wd, vaccuum to the Actuator stops. Isn't this backwards? Would this be caused by a faulty T-case Vaccuum Control Switch? Or could the lines be switched around on it, and it's working properly? I can't find anywhere in my book which lines plug onto which nipple on the switch. Anyone here know?? Thanks in advance, guys.

I would start with the fact that vacuum should not be at the servo in 2wd. I would look at the t/case switch and see if installed correctly-look at the hose harness and the switch-notice a small tab that HAS to be lined up properly. Start here. Alright!! I have 4WD again!! The problem was indeed the diaphragm on the t-case switch. It looked like it was on; but, I bought a new one and noticed the tab. It had broken off in the diaphragm. I just put it on right, and got vaccuum at the right time. I put the other switch in my glovebox incase of emergency. The other problem was that the little spring looking clipon the front diff wasn't snapping in right. I took it off and looked it over. I realized that it was supposed to go on differently and put in on right. The other problem was that there's some kind of relay, or sending unit on the housing that bolts to the diff. It had fallen apart. There's a spring, a seat, and a ball that were falling out. For now, I just took a screwdriver and a hammer and peened the metal back over to hold it together until i can get a new one. Does anyone know what this switch/sending unit is called? The plug is fine, it's just the internals of the thing that are bad. Thanks again, guys. I have 4wd again!

can you take a pic? Although I thing it is a 4wd light switch-is it similar(what remains of it)to a transfer case switch? Jerry[:@]

Yeah, It looks like the t-case switch; only, with an electrical plug instead of vaccuum lines. It's the only thing that connects to the cable housing on the front differential (other than the cable its self.) I haven't taken a picture, and probably wouldn't know how to put in on here anyway. haha Thanks for your help.
