When I start up my car - I get a puff of white smoke

Hey guys,

I'm curious what would cause a puff of white smoke to come out of my car in the morning (or once it's sat out for a long while)? I've always had this problem and a mechanic said it wasn't a big deal because it was just condensation built into the exhaust, but now that I'm a working stiff -- it's an eyesore when I go to and from work.

Any ideas to relieve this issue? Thanks!

Condensation in the exhaust pipe...

Unless your like a steam machine running down the road I would not worry about it. A blown head gasket could allow water into the combustion chamber and it would be constant. If your oil is not milky and there is no oil in you coolant, this is nothing to get excited about.

You could always install a heating system in your exhaust to prevent that little puff of "smoke" if it bothers you that much.

Just saying...
