Window Problems

This entire week is supposed to be above 80 F. My problem is that my AC system doesn't seem to be able to hold freon for very long but the bigger problems are my windows. The passenger side of my 1993 S10 Blazer will come down but it cannot roll all of the way down or it won't come back up. I have to leave about 1/5 of the glass still up.

I've also noticed that when it's hot, that side comes down very slowly or goes up very slowly. I have to wait a few times until it's finally rolled all of the way up.

The previous owner told me that she replaced the driver's side window motor with a brand new unit before the truck broke down two years ago and I brought it back to life last November. The new window motor only lasted two months before it died. The driver's side window will NOT move at all. It's stuck all the way up.

I'm thinking it could be a switch or a bad wire. Does anyone have any ideas? I really don't have any experience with electrical stuff.

The first thing to do is test to see that you have power at the switch and continuity to ground at the switch. If you have both of those things then you know the wiring is good up to the switch. Next check to see if you have power and ground at the motor with the switch depressed. If you have both of those then you know the wiring from the switch to the motor is good and the motor is bad.

When you take the door panel off to access all the window stuff be sure and check for mechanical obstructions inside the door or in the window track.

Good luck!
