Wipers wont turn off 93 s10 blazer

Got a 93 s10 blazer vin w. The wipers will not turn off. if i turn them on they go right to fast without stopping. not the fastest but yea. If i turn the key off right when there in home position and then right back on they will start right back up goin fast without stopping. but if i wait like 10 seconds after i turn the key off then they wont come back on. but if i turn them on and then back off there still on right. but if i wiggle the wiper switch (on the turn signal lever) back and forth but not actually hitting the wiper on part of it, they will turn off. but when the wipers are on and the switch off and i unplug the switch on the steering columm, they still wont turn off unless i turn the key off for 10 seconds or wiggle the switch when its plugged in ofcorse. i took the wiper motor off and resoldered the thick solder joints and the connector and motor joints and still no luck. i got a switch from a 88 s10 blazer but it has a different connector but same color wires. so im thinking of cutting the connector off mine and soldering it to the 88 switch. it has the same options as mine. but what do you guys think. sorry for such a long post lol.

my 90 fullsize had a similar issue. supposedly with these year trucks theres a wire or something that gets messed up on the circuit board on the wiper motor. try taping on it with a screwdriver to see if itll shut off. actually how i fixed mine was i shoved a bolt behind the motor and firewall bending it out just a hair. been this way for about a year and its still working. obviously the correct way would be just to replace the malfunctioning part

ok found the problem. Its the internal switch in the steering column where the turn signal lever connects into. I sprayed contact cleaner in there real good and seemed to work for a while but went out again. Sometimes it will work sometimes it wont. I might try hitting it again with contact cleaner.
