1995 Chevy Blazer dies after 2hrs of driving, restarts 45min later
Hello folks, new to the forum and looking for help with my 1995 blazer w/ 120,000 miles.
TLDR version:
After approx 2 hrs of driving, I experience power loss and rumbling. Vehicle momentarily recovers then dies completely and wont restart for 30-45 minutes. Temp gauge seems normal.
Taken to mechanic, who was unable to locate the problem. I am going to take to another mechanic but would like to be able to point them in the right direction.
Any ideas?
Long Version:
After driving for approximately 2 hrs+ I experience a sudden loss of power (pushing down gas pedal w/ no response) accompanied by and some rumbling.
The vehicle seems to recover after a few moments. Then a minute or two later the engine shuts down completely.
The gauges (temp, oil pressure) seem to be in operating range.
When i attempt to immediately restart, the engine seems very close to turning over but cant.
After approximately 30-45 minutes, the vehicle restarts normally.
This issue has occurred twice, both times while driving on the freeway.
The first time this occurred, I received a "service engine" and "check gauges" light, which appeared consistently for a day, then would only appear when the key was 1/2 turned.
Upon taking it a mechanic, he was unable to find the source of the problem, he said the codes displayed related to the dash board light function and inconsequential. He ran the car for several hrs and could not duplicate the break down.
Since then, I have driven the car on short trips of around 40 miles and have not experienced the same problem. This is not continuous driving and the vehicle is usually turned off for short periods. Still fearful this will occur again.
I will be taking to another mechanic for a fix.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? I'd like to be able to point the mechanic in the right direction but have no idea what the issue is.
Any ideas?

This pretty much is exactly what my first gen was doing when the fuel pump was going out in it. 75mi down the road I start to lose power. 5mi after that I can't get it above 45mph. Then another 5mi I have to pull over. Turn it off for a few minutes and were back to full power. I replaced the fuel pump and it was good to go.
Edit: my truck would gradually lose power but would never die. I did also replace the ignition module in it but at a different time

Suggest renting/borrowing a fuel pressure gauge and have it with you, that way when the vehicle does this again, you can check the fuel pressure and either determine it it a fault or not. This eliminates one of the possibilities.
Other possibilities could be ignition module, ignition coil, PCM. Something electrical is having a problem when it gets hot.
