The drivers door will not unlock from the inside or outside using the remote/key I can hear the solenoid moving an it moves the inside lock button but I still can not open the door, I pried the inside door panel off an the rods going length wise are connected and I can not tell if the rods are connected going up an down,

I had replaced the entire mechanism with one from the junk yard cause the old one broke apart from age, where the plastic attaches the two parts. I had to cut the lock pin(s) with a hack saw on the old one to open the door to replace all this, is there a way to open the door without cutting the door pins, what could be causing this mechanism from releasing ?

Please can anyone help me, as I have to get in thru the passenger side and climb over the center console to get on the drivers side to drive it
