1995 seat belt retractor problem.
Hello. First post here.
I have a '95 4 door Blazer. I recently noticed that the seat belt won't lock in place as it should when you jerk the belt forward quickly. I know nothing about the seat belt assembly other than it appears to be a problem with the retractor. The entire seat belt assembly is discontinued by Chevy. I've checked out a few aftermarket sites that appear to have a replacement but I'm not ready to go that route just yet.
Has anyone here repaired a faulty retractor? My front drivers seat belt will still retract slowly but that's all it does. I also discovered the front passenger seat belt isn't locking either. If I pull the belt all the way out and then slowly let it return, it will lock in place for about 2/3 of the length, but beyond that it stops locking when you give it the jerk test. Kind of strange (to me at least).
The rear belts work fine. I have no idea how long ago the problem started. I guess I never paid attention to the belts.
If repair isn't possible, can anyone suggest someone to buy replacements from? I want to give my Blazer to my 18 year old son so he can start driving and I need to do this job right. Any help appreciated.

agghh have same problem with both front seatbelts. It will lock when theres some shaking. Noticed it has little hammer and rubber disk with some kind of weight attached at the bottom. https://zapodaj.net/6389952b7374d.jpg.html
So when that weight is shaking due to vibration it will pop up the litte hammer which in a result will block seatbelt.
but it will only work when I hold it in my arm or drive on bumpy road. It will never lock in normal driving conditions.
