Default Replaced ball joints. What a difference!

Replacing the ball joints really tighened up the steering and made the truck easier to control. I thought ball joints were for suspension only but they helped the steering alot. Expensive repair though. The old ones had to be air chiseled offto the tune of $950.

I just need the outer tie rod ends replaced. The rag joint appears to be good. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

$950???[sm=yikesomg.gif]You got ripped off napa premiums are like $65 and labor max 3 hours if that. Should have been able to get that done for $500 parts included. Only 2 have to be chiseled out the other 2 bolt in. I did mine in my garage with a compressor that barely ran the chisel and it didn't take me 3 hours.

I disagree...If OEM they ALL are riveted in. Done 500 of these. If bolted(either upper or lower) someone has been there and done that! As far as the price....if you're happy-Beep, then...hope they used top shelf ball joints. Anyway...Jerry

It was CarX. I know they hose you down with huge mark-up's on their parts. I think he said they were using AC Delco and they were about $125 ea. Midas was quoting similar prices.

However, I found a mechanic that works on the side. Future repairs should cost about half of what these past repairs have been. I wish I could have found him eariler.
