2001 Blazer Sputtering and Dying randomly

blazer sputtering
my teenage son is buying a blazer..and we have been having similar problems. Changed the fuel filter, new battery..but when we bought new spark plugs it improved things a lot. The only thing is cuz the truck was sitting it now seems to have a problem with the alternator. The helping me make repairs to it just slightly ajusted the distributor cap and ran fine. Just gotta do a few more minor adjustments and we'll be fine. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you should do the jiggle test. Get it started and start jiggling all the wiring harnesses under the hood and see if it causes a stall, pay particular attention to the main harness and MAF harness. Had a random stalling problem on a 99 blazer, turned out to be the main wiring harness.

Here's a link to look at. Also I would check to see what my battery voltage is and make sure my ground was good from the battery to the block. Another thing to check is your positive cable from battery to your starter. If it has a worn spot, it can intermittently short and drop your battery voltage, causing it to die like you turned the key off.
