got a 02 bravada speedo doesnt work and trans wont shift abs light on but not sure if its related. replaced 3 plastic thread in sensors in the tranffer case, still nothing. bought it with the front diff out. the person i bought it from said he took a speed sensor out and said it was a bolt on one. did i miss seeing it? if the speedometer worked would just replace the trans but... any ideas out there thanks

 

If vehicle speed sensor data is not received by the PCM, it will affect all of the things you're expriencing problems with. It could be a problem with the sensor, the wiring, the PCM, the BCM, etc etc. It needs to be diagnosed. The SES light is probably on, so have the DTC's retrieved and post them here in the order they are retrieved. Is your vehicle AWD?

 

yes its AWD the code reader i have says no code present but it pretty generic. no check engine light. i may have to wait til monday to get my hands on a decent scanner.

 

Rather odd the SES light isn't on. Does it come on when you first turn the ignition on?

yes thats the one. there is three inthe transfer case. the bulb check when the key is first turned on the light works and off after it starts.

 

put the front diff in still no shift or speedo. check engine light works but not on. i have abs codes C0236, C0265, C0267. One vss signal other two electric brake control. the abs mod. could that stop all this stuff from working? It also sat without a battary for the last seven months... thanks

 

All 3 are ABS codes. Check both terminals of all fuses with the ignition in the RUN position.

 

Has the vss been replaced? Its either bad or wiring is messed up. Running an awd transfer case without a front diff attached it will damage the transfer case over time.

 

Checked all fuses cleaned up all the grounds. like i said ireplaced all three sensors on the transfer case. tested sensor on passengerside of tailshaft on the transfer case, checked the connection top of transfer case and wiring to the PCM. all tested good. I was told that i have no SES light cause the PCM sees the sinal from the sensor. All codes are ABS. codes say the EBCM needs to be replaced. tested it for power and cleaned up the ground. Ive read other posts that people were having the same problem but not all the time no speedo trans not shifting and ABS lite on but then the speedo would start working trans would shift and no more ABS light. bought it it was sitting in back at a used car lot sat for a year. I contacted the person who owned it befor me he said it had no other issues then the front diff. I do know if the speedometer does not get a speed signal trans wont shift. and having trouble finding information about how and where the signal for the speedo goes. any help is much appreciated thanks again
