2005 blazer Purge valve code p0496
Hi
Can anyone help me find out what this means?
I just replaced my selnoid at the very back by tank for another error code I had then a month later this one happened.
Any help would be great in diagnosing it.
For some reason the truck being in -29C for two days in a row then I started it.
The engine light came on and this is what code reader said.
The truck is now back in warmer climate. +10 C.
Can anyone help me find out what this means?

If activated charcoal from the canister breaks up and makes its way to the canister purge solenoid, (right side of intake plenum) the small pieces can hold the solenoid open. This causes vacuum to be applied to the tank when the canister vent valve, (by the fuel tank) is closed. If there is a vacuum when you remove the fuel cap, there's a good chance this is the problem. Remove the purge solenoid and apply vacuum to the nipple that sticks into the plenum, it must hold vacuum. Note: If the solenoid is removed, the silicone seal MUST be replaced.

I haven't bought the part on the intake manifold yet.
A: There is no vacuum when I remove gas gap
A: Hard start condition happens after I fill up tank with gas
Other info: It does have a rough idle
To clarify:
Remove to bolts and lift up on solenoid(at intake) (when truck is cold)
Put mighty vac at nipple that pushes down into intake.
Apply vacuum ( but do not disconnect external rubber line that goes to rear of truck)
Correct?

Totally remove the purge solenoid from the vehicle to do the vacuum test. You can get the seal separately at a GM dealer, or it should come with a new solenoid.

Thanks for reply!!! To disconnect the hose from the solenoid do I just "pull" it off as hard as I can or do I need to remove the grey c-clip from it?
