4.3 camshaft replacement
TAP TAP TAP this thing still work?! Been awhile since I've been online.
Anyway, I have to replace the cam in the 2002. I was wondering/hoping it could come straight out the front if I remove grille, rad etc.
It does have a 3" body lift but I don't see that causing any issues.
Has anyone done this?
ooops, Kyle can you (or another mod) move this to "2nd Gen S-series (1995-2005) Tech" where it should be? Please & TY

2 rockers started to make noise, so I adjusted them back to quiet. Week later they started again & I adjusted again. Few months into it & we had the intake manifold off for some reason I forget & a friend was rotating the engine while I was watching to adjust the rockers while watching the cam rotate to bottom for the lobes. Low & behold there were no lobes at the very front & rear of the cam!
Lunati said they'd never seen this before in the pics I supplied & only offered me 10% over jobber cost on a replacement & I'd have to pay (again) for shipping from the States.
‹^› (•¿•) ‹^› is what they got back from me.
I said that where the lobes were it's pitted, which means crappy steel &/or poor hardening process after the grinding because it's at the ends of the cam.
