Default 4.3 V6 interference motor or Not?

I just got a 1998 LS Blazer 4x4 with 176,000 miles. I don't know when the timing belt was changed, if ever. I would like to know if it has a interference motor or a non-interference motor. If it is non-interference then I can rest easy and not worry about ruining the motor if the belt breaks.
I'm on Social security and can t afford to have a new one installed just to see if it was really needed or not.

Thanks Guys

4.3 engines have a chain. honestly i dont think they ever break. ive yet to see one let loose, i tried to search if its a interference engine and cant find anything so that usually means it is NOT.

maybe someone can say for sure

its not a interference engine. It has a chain like this :

Do they break? yes. But rarely. They usually just "stretch" over time,Not causing issues until high miles which is usually 250k+ or more.

It is lubed by the engine oil. So another good reason to change the oil and filter on a regular basis. 3k for dino oil and 5k for synthetic is recommended.

If you ever take it to a "mechanic" and they tell you the timing belt needs to be replaced.....grab your keys and take your Blazer somewhere else.
