4wd low works / 4wd hi does not work!
I'm BACK!! Sup fam? So my Blazer is officailly known as BETSY! I'm not sure why, I actually hate that name. But it just came to me, I'm not sure how. Betsy the Blazer?? LOL I don't know, it should have a cool name, strong, fast, sporty. But NO! Just Betsy!! So I'll be refferin to her alot
Most of you probably already read my novel (sorry about that) thanks for all of ur replys and help. I really appreciate it!! So I'll try 2 keep this short and sweet.
I gots a 2001 Chevy Blazer 2-Door / LS / Auto / 4wd
2wd works perfect with no problems. The light stays lit and everything is cool. I'm suppose to be able to engauge into 4wd hi on the fly as long as im under 45 mph or stopped or in neutral. WELL THAT DOESNT HAPPEN!
If I put BETSY in neutral I can push 4wd hi or 4wd low, and then they both start flashing. So right away I know both lights are working.
So being in neutral if I push 4wd low, they both flash, then I put it in Drive and then 4wd low stays lit. So I'm assuming that 4wd low works. (But you know what happens when you assume, right?)
I can always do that proccess and get into 4wd low, or back to 2wd.
BUT if I'm in neutral and try the same thing, I cannot get into 4wd hi.
I put BETSY in neutral, push 4wd hi, both lights flash, then I put her in Drive it just doesn't engauge. 2wd will just stay lit.
I've read alot of posts, and nobody really had a definte answer. Is it just an electric problem?? Or is it the t-case modular?? Or am I just screwed???
The fact that hi & low both can light up & flash, I'm hoppin that it's not a MAJOR problem. BUT I'm sure it is and that it will be big $$$!
OK BF FAM - DO UR DAMN THANG!!

Well mike, you only have to be in neutral to go into 4low. Try go into 4hi in park, or drive

I've heard that if you remove the terminals from the battery for 15-30 minutes, it will reset the switch. My blazer has the same problem, but I have not tried this. Someone else told me that the switch behind the buttons needs to be replaced. I've no idea what this would cost...

When you try to move to 4HI, what happens?
If nothing you have the same issue as me.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery seems to reset something to get it working again.
I would love to find out what the root cause is and fix it.
Rod.

So without reading the whole article yet, the shifting is being disabled due to some other problem?
I will take some time to read thoroughly this weekend.
