Default 95 blazer radiator / water pump failure

Hey guys so my 95 blazer water pump went bad. So I replaced it after having it all back together the belt slipped and the fan along with the pulley and water pump flange went into my radiator and put a nice big hole into it. Well money. Is tight and to replace the. Radiator is a big chunk of change. The wrecker yard only has 96+ blazers and I cant figure out if a radiator from newer years would work as napa shows that 95 is specific to the year. Also. Wondering if the. Flange on the water pump should have separated like that. Does anyone have experience dealing with partsource hoping I. Could get them to replace the radiator because of faulty water pump failure. Thanks

Can't answer your question but maybe look online for pics of a 96 radiator, and compare it to yours? Or maybe someone here with a 96 will take some pics for you to compare.

Mine is a 95 also, so my pics wouldn't help you much, I'm afraid

I believe the upper radiator hose fitting on the 95 radiator is at a different angle from later years. I have a 95 radiator in my 2000, but I had to cobble together two different upper hoses to use it. I got such a deal on it, though, that I couldn't pass it up, lol.

Have you priced a new radiator yet? I've seen tons of them for under a hundred bucks.

For example

BTW, I have had a manufacturer pay for a new radiator and labor when a water pump failed. It was a long time ago, but it would still be worth it for you to ask. All they can do is say no.
