96 Blazer 2wd 4.3 v6 (CSEFI)-vapor locked now shifting problems
This spring I drove my blazer through some flood water-it didn't take it to well. Well, actually, it did take it-into the intake and motor. I have since drained and replaced the oil, transmission fluid and filter, changed spark plugs, had to change the TPS. The truck starts right up just fine, but now I am having transmission issues. I have reverse, 1, and 2. It will also shift into D but I have to race the engine and then let off the gas to get it to shift. Afterward, to keep it in gear, I have to really "baby" the gas pedal-if I give it to much, it slips and the engine races again-you have to rev it up and let off again to get it to re-engage. I have already replaced both shift selenoids in the transmission. I know this issue is typically diagnosed as 3-4 Torque Converter Clutch replacement, but since I can get it into D and sometimes (although rarely) OD, I can't help but think that when I hit the water I fried another sensor somewhere and that is causing my problem. Anyone got any ideas?
