Default 96 Blazer Code P0302 and flashing

Hi there guys new guy here, I have a quick question my friends truck a 1996 Blazer with 90k rounds on it just gave me a code P0302 misfire on cylinder #2. Also when the you drive the truck the service engine soon indicator flashes several times while driving. She has not changed the spark plugs since she got the truck 50k miles ago and the truck still has the stock distributor cap and wires. I'm guessing its either a wire or the cap or maybe a spark plug. Any other suggestions on what might be causing the issue. I have to fix her truck soon otherwise she is going to kill me

Sounds like you're on the right track. #2 Plug, Wire, or Distributor Cap. The cap contacts are probably burnt badly and the wires are suspect too. The light flashes because it doesn't miss all the time. Sounds like it's time to replace all plugs, wires, cap, and rotor button. That should make it last another 90,000. :-)

Thanks man BTW the cables are expensive but they are better than the factory ones.

Sounds like it is the #2 plug or wire as suggested above. I also read that a malfunctioning MAF can cause the same code. This was the code I had after a minor tuneup and stripping that socket. I just cleaned it out (might have had remnants in there from the tap) and while I was under the hood I cleaned the MAF for good measure.

Long story short. If the tuneup don't help check the MAF.

Looks like you already know what to do then. The plugs suck to change on this beast. Best of luck. lol.
