97 Blazer 2 door 4X4 door Jam switches

This is becoming quite a headache. I have replaced my door jam switches 3 times now and they keep breaking. I have to remove the #2 fuse so the lights wont stay on. I talked to a guy at NAPA and he said that there was another vehicle (older car) that had door jam switches that would work and fit the clip and the hole the switches go into. I looked at the other posts concerning this and it didnt really give me a solution except to buy more of those crappy switches. Anyone heard anything about other switches working?

A suggestion:NAPA should still have paper catalogs which would include a "buyer's guide" for its ignition products(these switches will be included in this category) and look for one with the same (or similar length) and the same connector. Try a jamb switch from a 67-87 chev/GMC truck. My 66 chevy C10 was built very late in the model year(Jul) and had jamb switches( I have never seen another so equiped) and a jamb switch from 73-87 worked and these are made of metal! I have owned this truck since 1972 and have only had to replace the drivers side once! Like I said:just a suggestion
