Default 98 blazer goes dead while cranking.

i have a 98 blazer i picked up. when u go to start it it goes dead. i recharged the battery and tried again within 5 seconds of cranking the battery was dead. i swaped out the battery and had the same problem. so i removed the starter and took to autozone and they tested and it came on fine. i was thinking mabee it was drawling all the volts so i hooked it up to another battery and had it spining just fine and the battery didnt loose any volts.. i removed the ground from the front of the engine and cleaned.. no luck. so basically whenever cranking the battery goes dead insitintly.... any ideals? im running out

I would check or may be just replace the battery cables. It is possible that the fusible link in the positive wire between the battery and the starter has gone bad.

ok so i took apart the battery tray and from what i gather theres a power wire that runs straight to the starter. then the other one goes to a junction type box and has a fusable link on it and conected to it is the alt wire.. the other side of the box goes to the fise block.. is this the fusable link u were speaking of? it dosent run straight to the starter but could it still be a problem

i disconected all the power wires and checked the resistance the had about.5 ohms on each. also check ground from batt wire to the block and it had about .2 ohm. im out of ideals.. perhaps when the ign goes to start its drwaling all the current but even with the charger on engine start it cant keep up with the drawl.
